Northeast Participatory Seed Catalog logo with an ink drawing of a seed and a leaf

The purpose of the Northeast Participatory Seed Catalog is to make open-pollinated, genetically diverse, and regionally adapted fruit, vegetable, and flower seeds available to growers of all types in the northeastern US [initial emphasis on eastern Massachusetts].

Our mission, as a land care company curating and supporting a seed catalog, is to integrate interesting and unique seeds into our landcare practices; perpetuate the culture and activities of high quality seed production and saving activities amongst farmers and gardeners in the northeastern US; and to model participatory production practices that financially benefit the grower and distributor equally.

Our activities in this effort will be:

  • Distributing locally/regionally grown seed to producers and consumers.

  • Capturing and sharing the stories of the varieties in the catalog through social media and on our website.

  • Integrating regionally adapted and grown seeds into our landcare practice, and supporting other landcare professionals to do the same.

  • Supporting seed producers through contracts and a 50/50 grower-seller/distributor split of gross revenue.

  • Building our organization’s network of seed producers and growers based on reciprocity and camaraderie.

We believe these activities will help us achieve our vision of a robust and dynamic regional seed catalog that entices and engages growers of all types to purchase from and submit to its offerings.
