Blue Sky Farm

Cape Ann Gardens thoughtfully manages a demonstration garden and market farm plot in partnership with the owner of Blue Sky Farm on Eastern Avenue in Essex, Massachusetts.

Since September 2022, we’ve been working to transition a low quality hay field into agricultural production utilizing low- and no-till farming methods. It’s been a slow, arduous process that wouldn’t be possible without the contributions of local arborists, soil enthusiasts, and land care professionals.

Yields throughout the 2023 growing season included edible and ornamental flowers, garnishes, aromatics, and plant starts.

We are currently increasing our partnerships to expand capacity for producing seeds, plant starts, and value-added farm products in 2024.
